Lukaku and Hazard

Belgium v England Prediction

Saturday, 3:00 pm
Saint-Petersburg Stadium (Saint Petersburg)

Belgium will go head to head against England in the third-place playoff of the 2018 FIFA World Cup at the Saint-Petersburg Stadium.

This will be their second tie in this finals, after they meet in the group stages, were Belgium won (0-1)

The Red Devils approach this tie following a heartbreaking (1-0) lose to France in the semi-final. They started the game brilliantly, but were unfortunate to concede from a corner early in the second-half. Roberto Martinez men failed to get back into the game and were lucky they didn’t conceded more before full-time.

England on the other hand were very disappointing against Croatia in the Semi-final were they lost (2-1) in extra-time. The Three Lions were the favorite to win, but they were outplayed by the Croatians in every aspect. Gareth Southgate‘s men took an early lead but were dragged into extra-time, were lack of concentration from the defense cost them the game.

Head to Head

This sides have met a few times including their group stage tie in this finals. Their last three games have seen England win 2 and lost 1.

Players to Watch

Romelu Lukaku was very quite against France and needs to step up his game. Eden Hazard needs to be less unselfish in front of goal.

Harry Kane needs to learn how to assist a goal. For me, his failed to pass to Raheem Sterling cost England the game.

Prediction: Belgium to win
