Chelsea returned to the Champions League with a spectacular 6-0 victory over tournament debuntants Qarabag.
Pedro Rodriguez 20 yards strike opened the scoring for the Blues followed by a wonder goal from summer signing Davide Zappacosta who’s 30th minutes cross shot from almost the touchline beats Qarabag’s goalkeeper Ibrahim Sehic to give the host a two goal lead before the break.
Second-half goals from Cesar Azpilicueta, substitute Tiemoue Bakayoko and a Michy Batshuayi brace ensured a comfortable return to the tournament after last season’s first absence since 2003-04.
Chelsea return to Premier League action on Sunday as they welcome Arsenal to Stamford Bridge.
