Everton defeats Swansea 3-1, to continue unbeaten run under Big Sam

Everton continues there unbeaten start under new Manager Sam Allardyce‘s as they come from a goal down to beat Swansea 3-1 at St James’ Park.

Leroy Fer put the visitors in the lead 11 minute before the break, when he tapped home a cross from Thomas Carroll but Everton leveled the scoreline in the 46th minute when Dominic Calvert-Lewin scored a rebound after Lukasz Fabianski saved Wayne Rooney‘s penalty.

Gylfi Sigurdsson who made a £40 million move from Swansea in the summer gave the hosts the lead in the 64th minutes with a superb curling strike, before Rooney converted Everton’s second penalty of the game to secure all three points for the Blues.

Rooney‘s goal takes him to double figures (10 goals) before Christmas, his first time in six years.

This result take Everton to 9th, while Swansea remain rooted to the bottom.
