Arsenal played host to relegation troubled Southampton side at the Emirates stadium as they fight for a spot in Europe next season.
17′ Early in the game, Arsenal were behind courtesy of a shambolic defensive error from Mustafi. Shane Long was quickest to react to a cross inside the box, his first time effort beat Peter Cech into the bottom left corner. 0:1.
29′ The Gunners restored parity to the game with a goal from Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. Danny Wellbeck flicks a through ball to Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang who makes no mistake as he fires home from close range. 1:1.
38′ Arsenal were in front for the first time of the game courtesy of a Danny Wellbeck goal. Wellbeck finds his way past a few defenders at the edge of the box and fires a shot that took a wicked deflection into the bottom left corner. 2:1.
74′ Super sub Charlie Austin who has only been on for just two minutes drew the game level for Southampton. Austin was left unmarked inside the box with the simplest of touch into the back of the net after a great assisted cross from Cedric. Game on! 2:2.
81′ Danny Wellbeck stole the show late in the game to give the Gunners a late win in the game. Fantastic work from Alex Iwobi from the rigt flank to beat the defender, his cross was precise to an unmarked Danny Welbeck whose glancing header was unstoppable. What a performance! 3:2.
90+ More Late drama in the game as referee Andre Mariner sends off Southampton defender Stephens. Wilshire held on to Stephens’s jersey and clearly tore the jersey before Stephens lashed out with a frustrating tackle. Wilshire was yellowcarded and midfielder Elneny was also shown a straight red for something he might have said in the dug up.
Chelsea 1 – 1 West Ham
36′ Goal! Cesar Azpilicueta opened the scoring for the blues as he was quick to react to a rebound inside the box, a bit scrappy but Cesar Azpilicueta claims it and dedicates the goal former Chelsea midfielder Ray wilkins who passed on earlier in the week. 1:0.
73′ Super sub Chicharito who loves to score against Chelsea draws the game level for the Hammers with a vital goal. Marko Arnautovic produces a nice cut back pass to the Mexican inside the box who shows great composure as he his first time effort flew straight into the right sand of the goal. Great equalizer from the Hammers! 1:1.
The draw means that Chelsea are just 3 points behind Arsenal with 6 games remaining for the Champions League spot.
